Dolphin 460 - “CATABELLE ”

Dolphin 460 - “CATABELLE ”

Price Reduced!

I sold Catabelle new and she was fully optioned out and has been lightly used ever since. Her owner has kept the boat to immaculately cared for and upgraded and is the most equipped Dolphin currently on the market. The boat is a completely turn-key, live-aboard Dolphin performance catamaran that is ready to sail anywhere in the world on a moments notice. Please examine her extensive inventory, low engine and generator hours, and her photos. She's the real deal - one of those rare Bristol yachts one seldom sees.

We built 24 of these Dolphin cats in Brazil from 2003 until 2008. The rising Brazilian currency and weak dollar forced us to raise the price of these cats during the recession so we halted production. Several Dolphins have sailed all over the world, a few have circumnavigated, and to date there has not been a single structural failure - not a single delamination, cracked or bulging bulkhead, mast base compression, etc. Each of these fine yachts took over 20,000 labor hours to build and the interior fit and finish are far superior to what you find on French production cats. Her large daggerboards enable her to point very high into the wind without side-slipping. In every respect she is one of the finest performance live aboard cats ever designed and built. To learn more about Catabelle, please just give us a call.

  • Pontoons, platform and deck:  Vacuum-bound fiberglass composite, polyester resin and PVC foam core (Divinicel).
  • This construction process adopts the vacuum-bag lamination system which successfully associates resistance with minimal amounts of material.  The end result is a lightweight and very resistant composite similar to the kind observed in high-performance racing cars.  The fibers contained in this composite run in a multitude of directions to properly meet the strain and tension the vessel experiences.
  • The structural bulkheads are projected and manufactured in PVC (Divinicel) with vacuum-bound bi-axial glass fiber.  The project includes two water-tight bulkheads in each pontoon.
  • The rudders are built in polyester-glass, vacuum-bound around a high density PVC (Divinicel) frame.
