Fresh from the drawing board of Loic Goepfert, one of France's most innovative performance catamaran designers and builders, the Alibi 54 is a cutting edge catamaran for the sailor seeking a yacht with the beauty and performance of an Astin Martin. At just under 10 tons dead weight, with dual, asymetric, push button operated daggerboards, all carbon rotating rig and square top mainsail, she easily exceeds windspeed, yet her handling is sure, predictable and smooth in all weather. She was built by a racer, but for the performance cruising minded clientelle - acheiving a balance of performance, safety, luxury and the high art design of a truly cutting edge European design firm.
I had the pleasure of sailing on Difference with my wife and her owner on the Chesapeake Bay this past summer, where we spent the night on Difference, dined on her, and sailed her in winds up to 12 knots. Even in such paltry breezes Difference slipped along at windspeed on most points of sail. For all that, she has full air conditioning, accomodates four guests, and has a private skippers cabin. She is a luxury performance voyager of stunning beauty.
Difference has sailed up and down the Eastern Seaboard and recently sailed open ocean to St. Martin in record time. En-route she encountered a massive storm and came through with flying colors, proving her metal in the worst the sea can toss at you.
The owner of Difference has come to recognize that the demands of his business and family will make it impossible for him to realize his dream of sailing full-time around the world and explained to me he has reluctantly decided to sell her. So, if you are the sort of person who is ready to go sailing now, rather than wait two to three years to have your dream boat built, Difference represents an excellent opportunity. We have listed her at an aggressive price and the owner is prepared to listen to serious offers.
Difference is currently lying in St. Martin and can be shown by appointment. To learn more about this gorgeous performance catamaran please just send us an email or give us a call.
