This course is for those who are entering the world of multihull sailing and would like to get a taste of life aboard. Spend two and a half days living on a 44’ catamaran gaining essential hands on experience.

This class is from Friday Evening through Sunday Afternoon.

Bareboat Catamaran Chartering - 5 Day
Monday afternoon through Friday afternoon

Prerequisites: Candidates who have previously taken American Sailing Association courses 101 and 103 may receive certification for ASA Bareboat Chartering (104) and Catamaran Cruising (114). Experienced sailors who do not have prior ASA certification may take the course and receive the Catamaran Academy Certificate of Completion.

Course Description:
This course expands on prior sailing skills teaching an individual to safely skipper a catamaran of 30’ – 50’ in length, by day in coastal waters. The course covers cruise planning, living aboard, identifying and dealing with various weather conditions, boat systems, maintenance, troubleshooting, docking, anchoring, and more. With experience, this course qualifies an individual to bareboat a charter yacht, with restrictions on area and night sailing.

Monohull Sailing- 3 Day Course

Prerequisites: None, yet some sailing experience is recommended.

Course Description: This course is a special discounted course for our Catamaran Students only and covers the material in Basic Keelboat Sailing (ASA 101) and Basic Coastal Cruising (ASA103). Sailors must skipper and crew aboard an auxiliary powered sailboat boat 20-30’ in length in moderate wind and seas conditions. Upon successful completion, American Sailing Association certification will be granted for ASA101 and ASA103.
