Morning Glory is a coveted owner version Catana 431 in excellent condition. She was purchased new from Catana by her current owner (an engineer) in 2001 and has been sailed lightly along the East Coast and Bahamas ever since. Her 2,700 engine hours reflect her light, owner use. I have inspected Morning Glory carefully myself and she shows fantastically. She is truly a turn-key voyager debugged by her fastidious owner. She has all of the gear you expect to find on an ocean going Catana - solar panels, watermaker, autopilot, top flight refrigeration, high-output alternators, wind generator, etc. In 2006 a fitting on her mast broke off the coast of New Jersey and the rig came down. The boat experienced minor damage that was repaired, but the rig was cut free to insure the safety of Morning Glory. As such she has a new carbon fiber mast from Forespar in 2006, new standing rigging, new sails from Quantum, and all new running rigging. In other words, the entire wind driven powerplant is nearly new. So there is no need to replace the sails, the standing rig or running rigging as you would normally do in the next year or so on a 2001 yacht. Morning Glory is currently in the Southern Chesapeake Bay, but her owners plan to sail North for some summer enjoyment, perhaps as far as Maine. So, if you wish to arrange a showing, please contact us so we can tell you where she is located and manage the details.
