Anne Gordon is the Managing Partner of The Multihull Company and partner to
TMC founder and president Phillip Berman.
Prior to joining The Multihull Company, Anne was a partner in the private investment
firm of Dubilier & Company. There, she had primary responsibility for buying, investing
and building media firms for Dubilier & Co.’s portfolio. She joined Dubilier & Co. in May,
2007 after having worked for daily newspapers for almost 25 years, in a wide variety
of management roles. Her career has also included a two-year stint in the competitive
Denver television market, as a top newsroom executive for KCNC-4.
Prior to joining the investment firm, Anne was responsible for all aspects of the day-to-
day operations of The Philadelphia Inquirer in its print and online versions for a little
over five years. Anne regularly appears on national talk shows, speaks on political and
media issues, and testified before Congress in October 2005 on the importance of a
federal Shield Law for journalists. As managing editor for the Inquirer, Anne was one of
only a handful of women editors at large metro dailies in America.
Anne is a 2001 Eisenhower Fellow who studied media issues in Finland and Sweden,
with a special emphasis on wireless research and development with Nokia and Ericsson.
She was a Pulitzer Prize juror in 2003, serving as chairwoman, and in 2002 was a juror
in the Public Service category. She is a former board member of San Diego-based Verve
Wireless, a mobile content provider as well as a past board member of Bulletin News,
Virginia-based news briefing service which serves the President of the United States. In
addition she is an advisory board member of Good Magazine, based in Los Angeles and
Covario, a SEO technology firm based in San Diego. Anne is also an advisor to Penguin
Brands, a sporting goods manufacturer as well as Nfinity a high-performance footwear
company dedicated to female athletes. In addition, she is chairman of the board of the
Cadence Foundation, a youth development non-profit group which introduces kids
from ages 9 to 18 competitive cycling skills to teach them life skills such as leadership,
teamwork and more.
